Ernst Åkerbladh worked as a poster artist in several countries including Sweden, Denmark and Great Britain. He was, among others, commissioned as a poster artist by the Cochrane Theatre in London in the 1920s. In his memoirs Åkerbladh also recaptures how he participated in a poster contest arranged by The Royal Airforce. To his great surprise his posters were accepted and awarded with 150 sterling – ”it was like money falling from the sky”…
Åkerbladh was also a dedicated caricature artist, and loved to work with oil paintings and aquarelles.
