Summer and sun and vacation on the Kulla penisula!
A slightly odd poster perhaps. The photographer is doctor, explorer and photographer Sixten Haraldsson. He had half of northern Sweden as his working area – he was a true adventurer. Haraldsson’s picture collection is unique and a true cultural heritage, and much of it is in the Ájtte Museum in Jokkmokk. The poster is also […]
Take the train to the Artic Circle and see the magical midnightsun! Bengt Brattström has in a simple but beautitful way illustrated the red sun. Brattström was teaching illustration at Konstfack and also wrote a book about chromatics, so it’s no wonder that the colors in this posters are perfect.
After the end of World War II, when the situation in Europe was stable again, it was finally time to wave goodbye to Sweden and discover that the world is big … incredibly big. And we want to be exactly as good-looking as the couple with the binoculars when we go traveling! Even though it’s […]
KMS alias “Kalle Firma” was somewhat of a celebrity in Gränna, and of course they city chose to commission him to produce the poster for Gränna’s 300 year celebration in 1952.
Erik Heffer once again captured what’s the best about travelling by boat – spending time on the sundeck with beautiful views, good company and a lovely breeze from the sea.
Walking around in the medieval town of Vadstena is like taking a trip back in time. With well-maintained historic buildings (and the oldest City Hall in all of Sweden), cobbled streets and the beautiful lake Vättern right around the corner, this place was popular amongst tourists in the 50s and still is today. In addition […]
Ranke Sandgren grew up in Umeå so certainly the assignment to make a poster for Norrbotten must have been very special for him. We definitely think this is one of our finest posters! And it should be in every home where the heart beats for the northern part of our amazing country. Go Norrbotten!
Gunnar Nordgren had a long career in advertising, with a lot of assignments from Sälen and other mountain areas. This poster describes the moment when you see the mountain close up for the first time and you wonder how it looks so steep.
Whether traveling by train, boat or spending the holidays in the mountains, you had to do it in style. Erik Heffer was brilliant with illustrating the glamourus life of a tourist.
