If you want to travel properly, you should travel with time. Maybe go abord in Travemunde and have a few days on the sea before arriving in Stockholm. Focus on the journey, not only on the destination.

The sea, the sky, the boat steering towards the lcity surrounded by the yellow fields. For many of us this is excactly how we see Visby when we close our eyes. Erik Ölmebo definitely knew what he was doing when making this poster!

This is high level nostalgia! A map of Sweden, originally published in 1948. The map has a lot of beautiful details. Note: This poster comes with a poster list in oak, which is 71 cm wide (see picture). The poster list makes it easy to hang the poster.

Quite a few travel posters came into being through poster contests, and this poster is no exception. In 1944 the Swedish Lloyd Line announced a competition, and the artist Erik Heffer was quick to enter. His poster ”When you wish upon a star” won, and his prize was the respectful amount of 2 500 kr.
