Göta Canal is one of the largest constructions in Sweden – it took over 20 year to build this 190 km long artificial waterway. The canal has been one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sweden for a long time, and it’s not hard to understand why: with magnificent views and beautiful scenary the canal has something to offer to everyone.
We have found quite a few posters from the canal, but no other one captures the luxury as well as this poster from the 1910s. Alfred Proessdorf has captured a real idyllic summer day with the elegant lady sunbathing on deck just as they are passing the locks in Berg.
