Per Beckman

Per Beckman was born in Vissefjärda in Småland in 1913. He was educated at the higher art and industrial school in 1935, where he met his future wife Kaj Beckman, who also became an important collaboration partner.

Between the years 1943 and 1980, Per was a drawing teacher at his brother Anders Beckman’s advertising school, where he was also principal in the years 1967-1980.

Per was a diligent illustrator in the weekly press and illustrated many books, both for Swedish and foreign authors. He also created many posters, as well as monumental paintings for Ekerö municipality and for ASEA in Västerås.

Per Beckman is represented at the Swedish National Museum, at Moderna Museet, and at museums in Karlstad, Malmö and Sandviken.
