Karl Mauritz Svensson started studying goldsmithing in Oslo in Norway when he was 17 years old, and even created many brilliant works. He hadn’t even turned 20 years when he emigrated to the US. But the stock market crash in 1929 and the following great depression forced Svensson back to Sweden.
Back in Gränna in Sweden he started a gardener business and later a decor company, mainly designing store interiors for local shops.
Svensson created the official poster when the city of Gränna celebrated its 300 year anniversary in 1952. Later in life Svensson was an art teacher.
